Wellness and Prevention Program
The Wellness and Prevention Program at CHS aims for
the following goals...
~ Help students be healthy and successful in school and in life
~
~ Prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs by our
students ~
~ Promote fun, safe, appealing opportunites for teens to be teens
~
We have a club called SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
that meets most fridays at lunch in Ms. Jackson's room
(P5). Everyone is welcome. SADD works to accomplish the
goals listed above. Click on the 'Events' section
in the left column of this webpage for current meeting agendas and
activities. Click on the 'Documents' section to read notes
from previous meetings.
The Prevention Specialist, Caitlin Cray, is on campus MONday,
Tuesday, and Friday from 10:00 to 2:00 to meet with folks one on
one or in small groups and help with any questions or concerns
about your self, your school, or your social scene. Everyone
is welcome - students, staff, parents. Caitlin is in the
Wellness Room, on the north side of the library. Drop in or
make an appointment (caitlin.cray@esd112.wednet.edu
509-493-1970 ext 234).
Registered Nurse, Barbara Kolman, is on campus every Wednesday from
9:00 to 1:00, also in the Wellness Room. She offers free,
confidential health information and services. Drop in or make
an appointment.
