CLASSROOM POLICIES

Absences
Daily attendance is crucial to academic success. Classroom activities and oral participation are critical to understanding the course material. Often, projects are group oriented and classmates will depend on your daily attendance. For these reasons, you will see your grade drop if you accumulate excessive absences (excused or unexcused). Take advantage of all extra credit opportunities to make up participation points.

Exceptions
School-sanctioned absences (field trips, sports travel, etc.) will not be counted against your absences if you check with me prior to scheduled absence to obtain assignments and schedule presentations. Also, if you have an extended illness, injury or family emergency, you must provide parent and/or doctor documentation.

Tardies
Chronic tardies affect your success and disrupt others. You are considered tardy if you enter class any time after the bell rings.

Hall Passes
You are required to carry a hall pass whenever you leave the room during class time. You have three passes per semester. Use them wisely!

Plagiarism
Plagiarism is a serious offense. Purposefully and blatantly copying another's work, including homework, projects, research and tests, will result in failure of assignment. Second offense will result in failure of the course. Remember, think for yourself and do your own work!

Technology
Students are expected to comply with the district's Fair Use Policy. Music/game players, laptops and cell phone usage are disruptive and are not allowed. If I see it or hear it, I take it! A parent may schedule an in-school conference to retrieve electronic items.

Food and Beverage
Only bottled water is allowed in the classroom.
